Nik Kuhn (aka: nikuhn)

BEFORE I BEGAN MY CAREER…

I was born in Evansville, IN and moved to St.Louis, MO after I graduated high school. I’ve always had a love for all things nature and its many forms of natural contrast. With this interest, much of my artwork growing up reflected scenes of conceptually, texturally and visually based contrast done in oil pastels, my non-digital medium of choice.

Earning my BFA in Graphic Design from Maryville University in St. Louis, MO in 2010 was my first big step in following my love of art. I was introduced to many forms of design expression, but the one that shined above the rest was Environmental Graphic Design.

My opportunity to join the real world of design began with the design and fabrication firm, Innovations in Art. Throughout my journey I’ve worked on museum exhibit design and production, donor installations, graphic displays, interior and exterior signage, way finding signage, financial awards, national sports awards, national retail awards, national automotive racing awards, and various corporate awards all of which can be viewed in my portfolio. With a decade of experience in such diverse projects, I take pride in an impressive collection of knowledge in materials that I’ve built up through the years and how they can best be used depending on the environment, application, budget and production time frame.

If you’d like to learn more about my design capabilities and work experience, please view my resume or cover letter.

OUTSIDE OF MY CAREER…

Everyone that knows me knows I’m an avid follower of all things tech related. In addition to a decade in the world of digital design, I also have over 14 years experience at Best Buy, the largest consumer electronic retail store in the world.
